Two examples of engineering services:

The helideck of the 4 JU drilling rigs built by Drydocks World Graha was originally specified for S-61 helicopters. As this type helicoper typically is phased out by the operators and replaced by the newer S92 the owner requested the yard for a variation order to upgrade the contract specification. The cost quoted by the yard was very high, so a Finite Element Analysis with a supporting beam analysis of the helideck was carried out as a service to the client and submitted to ABS for their approval. The proposed minor modifications was approved and the result was that the upgrade cost was reduced by approximately 90%.

The derrick of "Markab" was of a stayed design that had to be lowered for most seagoing transits of the vessel. A combined Finite Element Analysis (for joints) and beam analysis (for beam members) was carried out and the derrick upgraded to enable the vessel to transit with erect derrick. Due to this, significant time was saved for each mobilization/demobilization.
